The Temple of Edfu is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile in the city of Edfu. It is the second largest temple in Egypt after Karnak and one of the best preserved. The temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, was built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC. The god of this world, Lucifer, has sought worship for himself ever since the war in Heaven and his defeat there.

Key Verse: Genesis 42:9

Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”

Years had passed since Joseph shared with his father and brothers his dream of being a ruler and of them bowing down to him. Joseph had gone through really rough times: the pit, slavery, false accusations, prison. But through it all, he never forgot the dream and he was confident that God had not forgotten either. The message to us is this…God has a plan for our lives. He has not forgotten you. Jeremiah wrote, “‘I know the thoughts I think toward you,’ says the Lord, ‘thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you'” (Jeremiah 29:11-12). Paul wrote, “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His PURPOSE” (Romans 8:28).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Once again, Lord, I ask that I will think Your thoughts. I want only what You want. Therefore, please grant me the gift of Your chosen future for me and, like Joseph, for all my family too. I pray this in the Name of Jesus, the One who knew clearly His future and was obedient, even to the “point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8). Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Like Jacob (Israel), I, too, love and desire the best for my children. You see the daily photos by my oldest son, David Reynold, and I want to commend my youngest son also. Ronald Wesley helps me daily with this blog by making sure the technical procedure of posting the blog is correct. I’m not really computer savvy.

Yours for God’s thoughts being our thoughts,

David

  1. Lord help us to live lives worthy of you, lives of integrity, faith and promise. We know that you have a perfect plan for our lives and in Christ Jesus we shall now it to it’s fullest. Lord, be with us in this day to guide us, protect us and to love us until that day when you bring us home …. that day when we will know even more clearly than now. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen

  2. Saying Amen to your message and prayer today David. Thank you and your sons for their contribution to this blog. Praying for my family as well to understand and surrender to you. Thank God there are some siblings and grandchildren who are serving you but am asking God for complete household salvation and I am standing on His promises.

  3. That prayer is so “right on”. When I hear words mentioning my future, I can’t quite picture what that could possibly be as I am getting really old! Now living as a single person after my husband’s recent passing, I feel like I’m in limbo. I do love to spend time with the Lord Whom I love. I desire your prayer to be me prayer too.

  4. I know that “being in limbo ” feeling Doreen! My husband passed away 4years ago. I was bereft!!..Little by little our Faithful Heavenly Father taught me that He is..the answer!..our only comfort in life and in death, is our Faithful Savior!.. may God Bless and comfort you,and may His companionship bring you joy!!!

  5. Thank you for your words and prayer of encouragement! I have been through much trouble in my lifetime, and in addition have always struggled with what God’s purpose for me is…and in prayer after reading your blog a week ago I realized He really does intend for me to work as an artist and He created me to do that. I’ve tried and failed working at other things, but I was told as a child that I could not “be” an artist, “you can’t make a living as an artist”. I’m now planning to start a Christian artist collective in my town, a studio where we can work together and share the rent. Please pray that God will open the doors for me and bring the right group of people together…and will use us to bless others as well! Thank you for your prayers.

    • God bless you, May! What town do you live in, if I may ask? I am a Christian artist, as well. I would love to meet with you. The vision God has provided for you will materialize since you believe you are worthy of His love peace and salvation as His child of God. Discount the naysayers and be blessed by the gift He has given you! How divine!!! 😀

  6. Amen, David, amen. So grateful for your prayer, this morning, and having you with us on the vlog. “Obedience is only possible between people who are equals in their relationship to each other; like the relationship between father and son, not that between master and servant. Jesus showed this relationship by saying, “I and My Father are one” (John 10:30). “…though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered” (Hebrews 5:8). The Son was obedient as our Redeemer, because He was the Son, not in order to become God’s Son.” July 19, My Utmost for His Highest, Chambers.

“May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.”
