HELL IS EXCITED! (ISAIAH 14:9)

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 14-16

In the Kidron Valley at the base of the Mount of Olives are several Ancient tombs. In this photo you can see the backside of the Tomb of Zechariah and in the distance the Eastern Wall of the Old City of Jerusalem. Zechariah and Isaiah both made prophecies that could only find fulfillment in Jesus, Messiah/Christ.

Key Verses: Isaiah 14:24, 27

The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying,

“Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass,

And as I have purposed, so it shall stand.

…For the Lord of hosts has purposed,

And who will annul it?

His hand is stretched out,

And who will turn it back?”

When Isaiah wrote the words in chapter 14, Babylon was not yet a world power. However, Lucifer (Satan, the devil), who had deceived the original people of Babel (Genesis 11), was still their god! He is called, “The god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV – other translations call him “The god of this world”). Isaiah contrasts Lucifer with the God, the Lord of hosts! Satan, filled with pride and in rebellion against Almighty God, says, “I will” five times. The Bible points us (four times) to the One called, “The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!” (Ephesians 1:3, Colossians 1:3, and twice in 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 11:31). The god of any religion who says, “God has no Son” (i.e. Islam), does not believe in or pray to the same God as Christians do. Jesus had the opposite approach to His Father God. He said, as He prayed before His arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection, “Father…not My will but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). On one occasion Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightening from Heaven” (Luke 10:18). Be assured that the purposes of Almighty God, the only true God, will not be thwarted. Our key verse makes that clear!!!

Chapters 15 and 16 contain Isaiah’s lament over Moab. He has some comfort for them in that a remnant will not be destroyed, possibly because of Ruth of Moab, great-grandmother of King David. The throne of David, eternally established in David’s offspring, Jesus, is a throne of “Mercy” and “Justice” (Isaiah 16:5).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God, Your throne is forever established in Jesus, Messiah. Therefore, I “Come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). I have one cry several times every day: “HELP!” I pray to you, O God, “Our refuge and strength, a very present HELP in trouble!” (Psalm 46:1). Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Daily in the news I read, hear, and see the same countries…Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Iraq and Iran, as the centre of world violence, confusion, and constant war. Not much has changed. Could it be that it is because Lucifer, the god of this world, is the god to whom most of these people still bow down? How thankful I am that the founders of my country, Canada, declared Psalm 72:8 in our founding documents. It’s found in our coat of arms as our official motto. It’s engraved in stone over the entrance to the centre block of our Parliament Buildings, “He shall have dominion [Dominus – Lord] from sea to sea and from the river [St. Lawrence] to the ends of the earth” [North Pole]. That’s a geographical description of Canada. King David wrote these words about the God he served. The prophet Zechariah said the same words in Zechariah 9:10. I’ve just read from Zechariah, who, as a true prophet, speaks for the God and Father of Jesus Christ. I know it’s Jesus to whom he refers because of Zechariah 9:9-10; 12:10 through 13:1-6; 14:4-8. I’ve just read these scriptures and am very encouraged that “The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, ‘Surely as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand!'”

Yours with total 100% confidence in the Word of God as communicated through Isaiah, David, Zechariah, Jesus and Paul!!!

David

P.S. In one way I’m sorry to bring this up, but here it is. The people who attack Jerusalem for the last time bring this upon themselves (read Zechariah 14:11-12). The people of Jerusalem will be safe, but what of the attackers? Back in the 1950s I worked for Atomic Energy of Canada, and I learned from government documents of the effects of close-up (a mile or so) atomic weapon explosions. Here, Zechariah could not have more accurately described the disastrous effects on the human body. As I said, I’m sorry to bring such awful news, but I believe at some future time there will be an exchange of atomic weapons in the middle east.

This is the ancient mosaic floor in the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George, located in the ancient Moabite city of Madaba. It is the oldest map of Jerusalem and Biblical locations. Madaba is a Christian city today, located just east of Mt. Nebo in the country of Jordan. This is the area occupied by Israel before their conquest of Canaan. The Bible spelling of this name is Medeba (1 Chronicles 19: 7) and this city is also one from which Moses viewed the promised land.

  1. I have a question, please about Muslims living in our country, Canada. They don’t believe in JESUS, also now we are welcoming Syrian refugees. I notice that in publc schools that they are not telling students about JESUS. That bothers me. I’m not against any of them, I know that as Christians we must love or pray for our enemies. But what bothers me is that I heard that Muslems are thaught to love us while we are few and then kill us when they are many and we are few. Is that true? I really don’t want to offend any Muslims or different Cultures, but I would love to know. 1 is this true. 2 how should we as Christians protect ourselves and our faith. 3 should we feel threatened and. 4 what must we do. I’m sorry if this offends anyone but would love an honest answer.
    Thank you. Jenny.

    • Canada has always been a multi-cultural country, vast with different ethnicities, nationalities, and religions. All Muslims don’t hate Jesus, nor are they all terrorists. Syria is in a state of utter crisis and Canada along with numerous other countries is welcoming them to help them. Categorizing Muslims and Syrians as enemies to be prayed for sounds troubling. Let us pray for love and peace and healing for one another, as brothers and sisters. Pray, pray, pray for God to come into your heart and fill you with the love of Jesus and that it flows out to others so that they may come to know and receive Him as their Lord and Saviour.

    • thank you Jennifer for your blog! I personally feel you will not get an honest answer on this blog simply because everyone has their personal beliefs! I posted my comments on Nov 30 @8:46 p.m. you can search it if you wish!
Things have changed drastically in Canada since 9/11.
there are 1/4 million peolpe in CANADA that are homeless! 126 First Nation Reservations in Canada do not have safe water and sewage treatment on their reservations! Neither of these are a result of 9/11, because these problems existed before.

The Mayor of Medicine Hat, Alberta started a program called HOUSES FIRST, he had a very negative opinion about the homeless UNTIL GOD GAVE HIM SOME INSIGHT!, he met some of these homeless and realized they were human beings!

It is my opinion that Canada is going to have problems like they never have dreamt!
Donald Trump who is running for President of the USA has a few ideas he would like to entertain if he is elected! Many people agree!
I don;’t believe for one moment anything that the government says! they cannot possibly do Criminal Searches on everyone, that is impossible!
There are some churches sponsoring the refugees! I wonder why they don’t sponsor some of the homeless?
We have tent cities in many cities and towns across Canada, many of those who occupy these tents are working but don’t make enough to pay rent!
We have BIG BIG BIG problems in Canada, the devil has managed to blur the vision of many,

Apparently there isn’t enough money to set up services to rescue children in the sex business in our country, not enough money for Mental Health Services for youth and adults, dosen’t seem to be any money for some very serious issues in our towns, cities, BUT refugees come in and I asked an organizer about the money issue, in this case, those coming in will have their medical, rent, education covered for 5 years! This is not the same for the homeless in Canada! the other problem is that there has been people from certain countries who have been here for at least 2 decades and they have set up their militant groups already!
Yes indeed we continue to pray! Jennifer thank you again for asking questions!

decades ago I mentioned to a good friend????that I had been diagnosed with a mental illness at the age of 47! this friend said “oh poo poo, no such thing, it’s all in your mind!” I remember I walked away and cried! One year later I saw this person, I smiled and said nice to see you and this friend collasped in front of me, later I was told that this person also was diagnosed with a mental illness and even though the person got treatments this person never got strong enough to continue and this person died shortly after. I cried again, I cried and prayed that God had forgiven the cruel comments,……because we never know what is going to happen next…..
I certainly do not wish to start any arguments! We can agree to disagree!
I do believe that now more than ever in our Country, it is very important for people to pray and to come together to pray and I am suggesting we pray 24/7, I have picked Wednesday to do this…..again God bless you Jennifer for asking questions!

      • With all due respect, Sah, people are entitled to their own personal beliefs; not everyone shares the same views that you do. Yes, indeed, we agree to disagree. God bless you.

  2. We are to pray for everyone to come to an understanding and love of the Lord. However, I respect Dr. Mainse for his courage to stand up for what is true. Islam and Christianity cannot both be true. The Father of Lies has been indoctrinating a people for over a thousand years, by the words of a false prophet. He forces them to make a journey at least once in their lifetime (the Hajj), pilgrimage, to circle a meteor which “fell like lightining from the sky”. Pray for the Muslims, by all means, but don’t for one minute believe that it is safe to be indoctrinated into their beliefs. From today’s scripture:
“Because you have destroyed your land
    And slain your people.
The brood of evildoers shall never be named.
21 Prepare slaughter for his children
Because of the iniquity of their fathers,
Lest they rise up and possess the land,
And fill the face of the world with cities.”

    • God bless you Sherry for posting your blog! As I have mentioned the people of Canada really need to get their head on straight and begin to realize what is happening and join others in prayer!

  3. God loves all people…He saved Ismael by providing water for him in time of need when Hagar his mother was concerned that he would die of thirst.
Also many Muslim people have accepted Jesus into their hearts and have died for their faith. Most by their own people who have not yet seen the light. Jesus has revealed Himself to many Muslim, in dreams and in various ways, and these have come to His saving Grace.

Like any other ethnic group, there is good and bad in all…until they come to the saving knowledge of God’s Grace through faith washed by the Precious Blood of Jesus!!!

Yes, we need to pray for all people groups, particularly for those that have not yet received THE LIGHT…THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!!!
