CREATION

Suggested Reading: Psalms 104

Gobeklitepe, located in Turkey, is the oldest archeological sanctuary and oldest civilization known to man. It is a series of mainly circular and oval-shaped structures set on the top of a hill. Excavations began in 1995 by Prof. Klaus Schmidt with the help of the German Archeological Institute. There is archelological proof that these installations were not used for domestic use but predominantly for ritual or religious purposes.

Key Verses: Psalm 104:31

May the glory of the Lord endure forever;

May the Lord rejoice in His works.

All the earliest records of the human race show that intelligent people were moved to worship the Creator God (as illustrated by the youtube attachment in our the P.S.). Our native people here in Canada and original peoples everywhere speak of “The Great Creator.” When we pause to think deeply, without the brainwashing efforts of those who, for some reason, refuse to believe in God, we cannot escape the conclusion that a supremely intelligent and all-powerful Creator made all that we see in nature. In deep appreciation for the Creator, the writer of today’s reading begins and ends with “Bless the Lord, O my soul!” Yesterday we recognized that we need to order our souls to practice the worship of God consistently! Bless Him! Cause Him to rejoice because we acknowledge that He has made us and all that there is!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Today, Lord God, I’m not making a prayer request here in the blog. I’m simply giving the order to myself to bless You with my worship! The Hymn comes to mind, “Crown Him With Many Crowns.” He is worthy of all my praise!!! (click here for the hymn of worship along with beautiful visuals of the glories of creation).

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

In the mid 1800’s the walls between Roman Catholics and the Church of England were very high. Nevertheless, the hymn “Crown Him With Many Crowns” was one of several hymns in the English language that broke through those walls and everyone worshipped in song. The words were written by a Roman Catholic and the music by a Protestant. Another of those hymns was “Faith of Our Fathers.” On Father’s Day each year when I was a boy we would sing the words, “In spite of dungeon, fire and sword, etc.” I would think of the Protestants persecuted by the Roman Catholics as I sang (I had read the book, Fox’s Book of Martyrs). I was shocked to discover while in my twenties that this hymn was written by a Roman Catholic priest while serving time in a dungeon, where he had been placed by King Henry VIII. Doctrinal differences are important, particularly as to how and where we encounter God in the salvation of our never-dying souls, but the worship of God and His Son, our Saviour, is our common ground!

Yours for the glory of “The Great Creator!”

David

P.S. This attachment will take close to an hour to watch, but it is well worth the time, if not now, then later. If possible, please don’t miss it. It’s a video called, “God In Ancient China.” It is a teaching from a Chinese Pastor in Singapore on the meanings of the Chinese language characters. You’ll be amazed!!! (click HERE).

Among the ancient ruins of Gobeklitepe in Turkey, you can see a stork or crane being depicted. Enhancing the beauty of structures with sculptures has been a feature of temples everywhere, including the Tabernacle of Moses, and the Temple and synagogues in which Jesus would have participated in the prayers, Scripture readings and teachings. Like this carved picture of a bird, the Chinese characters, as shown in the above youtube attachment, are pictures or engravings.

  1. Thank you for the beautiful song and visuals, which compliment so well Psalm 104 today! In contrast, it almost seems like a form of one dimensional blindness, when those in awe of nature, do not see a Creator and are content to identify themselves as atheist. Yet, Reynold’s picture points out from early time in human history, there is an innate desire to recognize God and worship. I pray the barriers of Christian religions will someday be dismantled as we embrace the awareness and access to our one Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Blessings, to all!

  2. I have never been able to understand how anyone can look at the beauty of nature around us and not acknowledge that there is a Creator God. I am so thankful my God gave such beauty just for us to enjoy and the senses for us to see, hear, taste, smell and feel all that He gave us. Thank you Lord. What a beautiful Psalm today as a reminder of His glorious creation.

  3. I want to Bless and Thank the Lord , for 2 years my husband who is 76 has a high psa and an enlarged prostate it was the sixe of a grapefruit the normal size is a walunt , through prayers his psa is normal as well as his prostate so praise God as well he hurt his knee from bowling 3 weeks ago which he could hardly walk we laid our hands on his knee and now he is walking almost normally
Thank you Lord for healing my husband in Jesus Name Amen
Bless the Lord all my soul Bless his holy name 🙂

  4. How beautiful the hymn today went with Psalm 104! Thanks so much, David for enlarging our knowledge of how things came to be. Denominations have sometimes caused us to see things in a different light but God desires we be as one. No tags on the doors in heaven. He loves us all and today’s info shows how we who grew up with different religious backgrounds all become as one when we recognize how much Jesus loves us. Glory to His Name!

  5. O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds* Thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art! How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze; Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art! How great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

  6. Like Denise I can’t understand how some people do not see The Creator’s hand when they look at the beauty around them, especially when the seasons change, each one with it’s own beauty. Thank You Lord for your awesome creation and for your Word, especially Psalm 104 for today.
Thank you for the hymn “Crown Himwith many Crowns!”

  7. We will sing to the Lord as long as we live!

    Crown Him With Many Crowns

    Crown Him with many crowns,
    The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
    All music but its own!

    Awake, my soul and sing
Of Him Who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
    Through all eternity.

Crown Him the Lord of love!
    Behold His hands and side–
    Rich wounds, yet visible above,
    In beauty glorified.

    No angel in the sky
    Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends His wond’ring eye
    At mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of life!
    Who triumphed o’er the grave,
Who rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save.

    His glories now we sing,
Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of heav’n!
    One with the Father known,
One with the Spirit through Him giv’n
    From yonder glorious throne,

    To thee be endless praise,
    For Thou for us hast died;
Be Thou, O Lord, through endless days
    Adored and magnified.

    v. 3 by Godfrey Thring, pub. 1874

Wishing all saints a most blessed day in the Lord

    • Thank you Beverlee Kay for all the verses of this song. (I printed it out for future use) Thanks you David M. for you words today. Psalm 104 – what a great Psalm. The God of all Creation! A Lover of souls – and a provider for all the creatures of the earth. “To Thee be endless pdraise. For Thou for us hast died; Be Thou, O Lord, through endless days. ADORED & MAGNIFIED” My heart is filled with praise. Also, prayers for David M, Olie, Doreen to name a few – and for all the bloggers whatever the circumstances. Bless the Name of the Lord! His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Samuel

  8. Regarding the persecution of catholics by Henry VIII etc, I think of the second beast with two horns like a lamb mentioned in revelations. The symbolic use of horns always refers to kings or leaders in the bible. The fact that the two horns of that evil beast that glorifies the first beast and does it’s work have horns like a sheep means that the leaders of it pretend to be holy. While I don’t think Henry VIII is exactly the identity of one of those two horns, he was part of a beast that used religion for political power. Truly, God had His Purpose in the formation of the protestant religion, but Henry III

  9. “All creatures of our God and King,
Lift ukp your voice and with us sing,
    Alleluia, alleluia!
….O praise Him, O praise Him,
    Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
    -Francis of Assisi (1182-1226),,,
    Samuel

  10. But Henry VIII was not holy. Generally, I think of the Holy Roman Emperor and Mohamed as the two horns of the second beast. When the mask is removed, Hitler is the Holy Roman Emperor. The Renaisance and “enlightenment” glorified ancient Greece, Rome and Babylon. The Ottoman empire also glorified Persia, Egypt, Asyria and Babylon. Both empires glorified the first beast. The neo-nazis also glorify that first beast, worship the Holy Roman Emperor and conspire with islamic devils. I think there are muslims with true faith in God but not if they are conspiring with the snakes that I just described. They might not yet confess Jesus but some will probably meet Him.

  11. What exactly do you mean by your comment, “Doctrinal differences are important, particularly as to how and where we encounter God in the salvation of our never-dying souls,”? Can you give some examples.
    Thank you

  12. Yes, what a beautiful creation He made for us to enjoy! And even creation should teach us there is a great Creator God behind it. Thank you for all the songs and reflections David M. and fellow bloggers. Enjoy His creation today.

  13. CROWN HIM, CROWN HIM, JESUS THE BLESSED REDEEMER!!!! This song came to mind too.

Thank you Pastor David for that wonderful song you posted,
“CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS!! to Glorify Our Great and Wonderful Savior and Lord!!

  14. David, how can we thank you enough for honouring my precious Mom, Jean
Ambrose in your blog Saturday, October 19th … the day before her Celebration Memorial Service. I was so encouraged to get some beautiful emails from folks who read your daily blog which really blessed our family and I was able to read some of these during my tribute to my loving Mom. Thank you so much for your love and sensitivity … you and Norma-Jean are precious and we all love you very, very much. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. My whole family has always appreciated the natural beauty which the Lord has given us from day to day .. beautiful sunrises and gorgeous sunsets and all the beauty surrounding us. At Mom’s celebration service we sang “How Great Thou Art” … what a glorious hymn .. here are the words:

    1.
O LORD my God! When I in awesome wonder
    Consider all the works Thy hand hath made;
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
    Thy pow

  15. It was really interesting to hear the Chinese history of Christianity through the symbols of their words. China has a rich past from creation, and the flood, to the building of the tower of babel, and the eventual death on the cross of Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb, and His subsequent resurrection to redeem us through belief on His name. It was thrilling to hear the minister from Singapore say how China’s first, and greatest emperor was a Christian, and how everyone who had ever taken writing in school had been unknowingly writing about God, and that He was trying to reveal Himself to them.

  16. Psalm 104 is such a BEAUTIFUL PSALM! Thank you David for sharing that wonderful hymn(Crown Him With Many Crowns) with us. My husband and I also so enjoyed all these wonders of God’s Creation that were shown as the hymn was being sung. Blessings everyone!!!
